“Does anyone care what the Padawan thinks?”

I DO, AHSOKA TANO!! It’s Ahsoka Tano Day!! Happy 9th Anniversary, Padawan of Anakin Skywalker, Togruta queen of my heart, sage and magnificent hero of mine! Ashley Eckstein, the lovely voice of Ahsoka and founder of geek girl fashion company Her Universe, posted this today on her various social media accounts:

My loves!!

I have celebrated this joyous day on here before, but I had just a tiny collection back then:

I have acquired a bit more since then:

Aaaaaand even more work by Lorna-ka, also from her Society6 and Redbubble accounts.

And Ahsoka Tano was my first ever Cosplay at a comic convention, and I loved every second as being dressed as my hero.

I couldn’t help but do it again at another comic convention several months later:

That’s where I found the rare Elite Series Ahsoka Tano action figure that now joins my other Ahsokas:

To honor Ahsoka on her anniversary, I’ve been watching some of my favorite episodes from Season 3 of Star Wars Rebels. If I had been home all day, I would have been watching several Clone Wars episodes, but I was out with friends and then family. But, in case you haven’t noticed, I treat most days as if it’s Ahsoka Tano Day. I can’t help that I adore her!

Let’s further celebrate her with some awesome gifs of her life:

CAN YOU EVEN HANDLE TODDLER AHSOKA?!?! ♥

Strong and courageous characters like Ahsoka Tano give me the strength to be such a badass myself, that perhaps I can also be so strong and brave and save people. In this world of darkness, she is my shimmering light of hope.

“Long live rock! I need it every night”

So do I, my darling Who. But I need my Disney animated classics, too; right now, I’m watching 101 Dalmatians because I haven’t in a while and I’ve been craving it. Truly, I need both. Seldom do the two ever cross paths, but lately they do on graphic tees…

Who-De-Lally Women's Baseball Tee

This take on my beloved 4th favorite band, the Who, and their classic logo and mixing it with Robin Hood is just delightful. My favorite part is “THE WHO-DE-LALLY TOUR ’73”, which is combining the two even further by referencing the classic song “Oo De Lally”. You can get this shirt and a few other rockin’ ones  from Whosits & Whatsits. What else, you ask?! Well let’s take a gander…

Next up, we have an AC/DC and Hercules mash-up; note the “HIGHWAY TO HADES”

Highway to Hades Tank

And then this Ramones and Snow White and the Sevens Dwarfs mash-up:

They’re all so clever, cute, and hilarious. I think it’s a small, independent shop, so you won’t be seeing these at Macy’s or anything like that. But it’s fun to buy from small businesses like this; there’s much less of a chance that you will run into someone wearing the same shirt as you this way, since it’s relatively lesser-known.

Of course, at least one major chain store has also had the sense to combine Disney with rock and roll, and of course that’s Hot Topic.

Like this awesome, “metal” style Sleeping Beauty shirt:

And this icy-rock Alice shirt where she looks moody af:

And my favorite, but so far it’s only in mens/unisex sizes…I like more fitted and less…straight-down-shaped tees? It’s hard to describe. But whatever, I still love this faded Little Mermaid tee:

Oh, and the font style is obviously inspired by Def Leppard. Look at my own Def Leppard tee:

And then there’s this epic one of the Beast:

I knew instantly when I saw that it was Ozzy Osbourne-inspired! I dug through my dad’s closet full of vinyl records to find proof (he doesn’t mind; what’s his is mine when it comes to music):

Well done, Hot Topic! But…I want more!! Also, it would be awesome if they weren’t all in black. I love black, but when it comes to “band tees”, it just reminds me of my wardrobe in middle school…literally just black band shirts that didn’t fit me well because they were mens’ shirts. I like having shirts in all different colors and cuts now that actually flatter me! But, I will still buy these shirts; I can cut them up in all different ways that I have seen on Pinterest!

But wait…it doesn’t stop there!!

This is their only rock and roll Star Wars one, but I hope they make more!!

But wait….this is relevant. Look at this beautiful mash-up of Rogue One’s Jyn Erso and the late David Bowie:

img_1502

It’s by my favorite small business, BeepBoopBeepClothing, who are actually temporarily only at TeePublic at the moment.  ROGUE ONE SPOILERS…”Stardust” is Galen Erso’s sweet nickname for his daughter Jyn. And Jyn is seen here with an Aladdin Sane look as an ode to David Bowie. And “Stardust”…obviously that’s referencing his album Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars.

In conclusion, rock and roll is the greatest thing ever and is beautiful when blended with other things I love dearly. Does this mean that rock and roll and Disney should collide in more than just clothing?! Perhaps! After all, Lilo & Stitch had a lovely Elvis Presley soundtrack. Princess Elena of Avalor is darling with her musical story-telling:

I am definitely excited for the next Disney Pixar film, Coco, a Dia De Los Muertos tale about a young boy who wants to be a musician despite the disapproval of his family (I know, so far it has the exact same premise as the Book of Life, BUT I WILL WAIT UNTIL I SEE IT AND GIVE IT A CHANCE TO BE DIFFERENT AND BETTER…).

Obviously we haven’t seen any footage from this film yet, but either way, I’m excited about all of these guitars we’re getting now!

Mugshot Monday #12

I got this mug recently on Christmas from my boyfriend’s sweet younger sister; she made it for me!! It’s perfect because I do have some deep initial pride (“R” is obviously the best letter ever), and of course it has my sweet R2-D2 with a delightful pun. She managed to fit all this awesomeness on one mug:

I absolutely adore homemade gifts; if you have the talent, it’s honestly such an honor to receive something you know the person worked hard on. If I had the skills, I would do this for everyone all the time! Alas, I do not, which makes receiving handcrafted, personal gifts even more special.

“I’ve got gadgets and gizmos a plenty, I’ve got whozitz and whatzits galore”

I know, I like talking about my stuff a lot…but I collect some pretty interesting things, if I do say so myself. Especially Funko Pop! figures…guys, it’s not my fault. I went to Hot Topic while at the mall recently and had to go there because 1) there’s not one super close to me so I take my opportunities to peruse when I can and 2) I knew I had a $5 dollar reward from them expiring soon. I look at the wall of Funkos for like 7 minutes because I see Ezra, but I’m looking for Hera, and if they have one character from Star Wars Rebels in stock they’re bound to have another, right?! Finally, I had to ask an employee if they had any in back or if they had their entire stock pretty much out. At first, she made it seem like everything they had would be out, but then she had me describe the character I was looking for. “With the green things on her head? I’m pretty sure I’ve seen her before,”…she then got a ladder and looked behind the ones that were higher on the shelves. It reminded me of my retail days, that still aren’t very far behind me, when a customer would be looking for a DVD or CD and it wasn’t out on the floor but our system said we had in it stock; I was always determined to find it, even if that involved digging in the warehouse through boxes fellow employees never bothered putting out, for whatever reason. I digress; she did not find them on the shelves, but had told me she was almost certain she had seen the one I was looking for. A few minutes later, she came out with my little Hera and I was so happy. I went to check out, and of course the cashier has to tell me that the Funko Pops are all 3 for $30 (again, I’m familiar with this game). I politely declined, and asked him to look up my rewards that I had earned. “Actually, you have $10! Now you may as well get two more for the 3 for $3o,”. Damnit, he had me there. I was sold. Obviously I had to do it. See, I told you it wasn’t my fault! I was clearly swindled! (or easily swayed…)

I still need to go see Rogue One again, because apparently  “General Syndulla” is called upon over the intercom at some point. With that in mind, I happened to pick up a general, a princess, and then one very special woman who was both.

The very first outfit we saw her in the first Star Wars and the first outfit we saw in the most recent Star Wars. Also, it’s interesting to see how Funko Pop’s style has changed over the years, side by side.

img_1504

Oh wait, did I show you what I got for Christmas from people I love extremely dearly?!

img_1474

I already had the exclusive Target version of Cassian Andor, but now I have Jyn Erso. I adore them both. My little heroes!

img_1505

Look at my little Rebels!!! I had to have Hera and Sabine together, but then I wanted to have Ahsoka with Hera as well; Hera was the only one to have contact with “Fulcrum” before she revealed herself to the rest of the Ghost crew. Also, they’re both my favorite fictional species: Torgrutas and Twi’leks are both gorgeous creatures.

img_1506

Sorry not sorry for the blurry picture…they were in the middle of bobbling together; who am I to stop that?! Their beautiful lekku, bobbling in the air, as free as can be.

But, back to the original Star Wars Rebel:

img_1511

I’m still mourning Carrie Fisher, so I just keep buying Princess Leia stuff. I was buying Star Wars Tsum Tsums for my niece to accompany these adorable Star Wars Little Golden Books I got for her at Barnes and Noble when I couldn’t help but add one for myself. I got the classic/original Princess Leia along with Han Solo for my niece, and the Empire Strikes Back edition, “Planet Hoth Leia” for myself.

Also, I got this Elite Jyn Erso figure like two days before I saw Rogue One (one of my very last employee purchases at my old job; I had to do it), and she looks so right with my darling Ahsoka:

img_1536

img_1537

Oh wait…I almost forgot about the princess I got!

img_1509

Here is the Hot Topic Exclusive glittery version of Ariel’s classic pink dinner dress! Ariel is my favorite princess, as I have mentioned before, so of course I had to get this exclusive of her. She’s my only Disney one; I’m still trying to keep my collection mostly Star Wars, but now I want more Disney characters to join her. For now, she resides by Jaylah (Star Trek Beyond) and Spider-Gwen.

Speaking of Ariel, I finally got to see the Broadway version of the Little Mermaid!!

img_1534

It was a gift to me from my boyfriend’s parents! And it was beautiful and phenomenal!! I’ve always loved Ariel’s sisters, and their 60’s-esque number “She’s in Love” blew me away. And singing and dancing Prince Eric?! He’s already been my favorite prince and my dream man, but somehow he just got more perfect!! I highly recommend this show!! Mostly to Disney and Little Mermaid fans, but it’s amazing whoever you are.
