“Standing all alone here, in a tavern full of ghosts,”

It’s been almost two weeks ago that I was in the glorious presence of the Hollywood Vampires, who consist of Joe Perry of Aerosmith, Johnny Depp, and Alice Cooper!! And yes, I was lucky enough to see them just days before Joe Perry was hospitalized and had to leave the tour. I have talked about them before, and was so excited when I found out they were coming to Aurora, Illinois, I bought tickets as soon as they were available. And it was a fantastic show!! Not only did they do songs from their album, but they added some new songs as well. Well, not exactly new, as the whole theme of the band is honoring deceased rock stars. But, still new for them to play; they played Rebel, Rebel and Suffragette City by David Bowie and it was glorious. And while they did My Generation on the album, they performed Pinball Wizard in addition to that to honor Keith Moon and John Entwistle and it made me insanely happy. They did a fantastic version of Come Together that was honestly closer to Aerosmith’s version, quite naturally so. They also did Sweet Emotion, which was amazing, but I was mostly enraptured by my Alice Cooper playing the maracas.

Here are some other cool shots I managed to get:

Such a fantastic show. Just as exciting as their debut album and more!!

P.S. The next day, my friend and I went to a visit another dear friend of ours who lives in Chicago and we went to this darling, beautifully cultured print shop and each of us bought $5 mystery bags of goodies. I got candy, a lucky pen, lovely greeting cards, a Bernie Sanders (a sweet, sketched version of his face)  button, and….maracas!!

They’re not all black like Alice’s, but they’re partially black! So that makes them my pretty Alice Cooper maracas.
